Schools Reopens for Academic Activities
Schools under the supervision of the Catholic Diocese of Issele-Uku Education Board resumed academic activities on 12 January 2026.
A significant number of students returned on the first day of resumption, while teachers were seen putting final touches on essential school records such as diaries, class registers, and lesson notes in preparation for smooth classroom activities.
Staff Training Held
In continuation of its commitment to quality education, the Catholic Diocese of Issele-Uku Education Board organized a teaching staff training seminar on 17 January 2026 for all teachers under its administration. The seminar was themed “Harbingers of Hope for Catholic Education: Mainstreaming Catholic Social Teaching for Development.”
Key discussions during the training focused on effective disciplinary approaches for pupils and students, modern teaching and mentoring models to enhance learning cognition and assimilation, management of bullying, molestation, and abuse in schools, as well as adherence to the code of conduct in educational institutions, among other pressing issues.
Participants were given the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the sessions to clarify grey areas. The training concluded with the presentation of certificates to all participating teachers.
